Encontro Nacional de Neurociência Cognitiva e Educação Matemática: contribuições para a divulgação científica e avanços educacionais na região do Seridó

Abstract

The Cognitive Neuroscience and Mathematical Education Study Group, in collaboration with other research groups from higher education institutions, organized the II National Meeting on Cognitive Neuroscience and Mathematical Education (ENNCEM) in 2024, in the municipality of Caicó, RN. The central objective of the event was to discuss the advances, discoveries, and contributions of neuroscience to the mathematical learning process. The second edition of the event had the participation of over 200 participants from various regions of Brazil and offered workshops, lectures, and round tables. The target audience included undergraduates from the Pedagogy and Mathematics programs, as well as teachers from the Early Years and Mathematics. The organization of the event arose from the need to promote research development at the intersection of cognitive neuroscience and mathematical education. This work seeks to revisit the memory of the previous edition of the event, as well as discuss its relevance in the current context.The study was based on photographic records, notes, and the application of a questionnaire to the participants. We hope to inspire similar initiatives, encouraging other research groups to promote actions that contribute to the dissemination of scientific production,as well as to contribute to the advancement of both science and teaching.
