Representações negras em Oiteiro de Madalena Antunes

Abstract

This work analyzes the reception of the novel Oiteiro: memórias de uma sinhá-moça (2003), written by Madalena Antunes, in Potiguar literary scenery of the 50s, as well as the narrative and cultural elements used by the writer to represent black characters present in the novel. Methodologically research was developed based on bibliographical productions about the novelist, black and their representations in Potiguar literature. Considering their historical and social contexts, the traced route allows us to observe if the stigma of negativity or black invisibility, common in Brazilian literature, they are refuted or confirmed by the author. Finally, it proposes a didactic sequence for reading and discussion of the oeuvre in the classroom.
