Abstract

This work has as the main goal the development of an naturalistic museum space to explore elements of visual accessibility in Bosque dos Namorados, Parque das Dunas - one of the largest Atlantic Forest reserves of Rio Grande do Norte. Thereby, it’s about the design of an educational Atlantic Forest Ecomuseum that stimulates awareness of the environmental heritage, including participation of the visually impaired through interactive elements that both architecture and landscaping permit. Therefore, it is needed to understand the specifics of the visually impaired and the law of the universe of study where the exhibition space work. The subject is relevant because it simultaneously address the issue of accessibility in museums and sustainability in architecture; therefore, the work emerges as a manifest for the importance of ecological awareness and that this should also reach out the people with some kind of disability.
