Cinemaiseis: anteprojeto de reuso da Assen em espaço de integração entre cinema e outras artes

Abstract

One of the major current challenges in preserving historic buildings is the need to adapt them to the guidelines of today's society, be it current norms, new technologies or new uses. The insertion of acoustic solutions into existing buildings comes as one of the contemporary themes, with cinema being one of the uses that requires modernization of heritage constructions. In Natal, the building of ASSEN - Association of Subtenants and Sergeants of the Army of Natal - a exemple of modern architecture built in 1963, is in a state of abandonment and is eminent, therefore, a proposal of reuse that respects its characteristics rather than allowing this architectural memory to be lost, as has already happened with many other buildings in the city. Thus, the main objective of this work is to prepare a preliminary project of reuse of this building in a cultural space focused on the interaction between cinema and other forms of arts, with the insertion of acoustic strategies. Such intervention would serve as a solution to the maintenance of the heritage, to the increase of the dynamics of the place, to the study of acoustic solutions turned to old buildings and as a cultural attraction for Natal.
