Casa-abrigo para mulheres em situação de violência doméstica em Natal/RN

Abstract

Violence against women is a worldwide problem, considered a public health issue, and that unfortunately is present every day in the Brazilian media news. The Shelter Homes are institutional services for temporary shelter, destined to the reception of women in situations of violence who are under the threat or imminence of death, also including their children, in case they are mothers. These constructions are safe places that offer protected housing and comprehensive support, especially in the psychological, social and legal areas. In view of this situation, the theme “Shelter for women in situations of violence” is considered, and the object of study is an adequate environment for welcoming and protecting women victims of violence, based on a proposal for an adaptable base project, elaborated in the light of spaces more humanized and restorative. Therefore, it was necessary to understand which characteristics configure an ideal environment, which are capable of giving women the feeling of welcomed and belonging to a home. In this sense, the general objective of this Final Graduation Work is to propose an architectural draft of a Shelter House from a reform, for support and recovery of women victims of domestic and family violence. The justification is based on the understanding of how much it can contribute to the society, working on a theme relevant to an important social issue. The methodology was based on a study of theoretical and documental references, systematic and qualitative analysis of the information collected and project design. As for the results achieved, in addition to promoting reflections on the subject and its implications, the product is the proposition of a humanized Shelter Home, from the renovation and expansion of an existing residential building. The proposal resulted in a single-story house, with 149.26m² of expanded area and with great preservation of the existing permeable area. Also, it has important accessibility adjustments and it is completely integrated with the natural environment, meeting the needs of the sheltered women.
