Artigo Blockchain in health information systems: a systematic review(International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health, 2024-11-14) Fonsêca, Aleika Lwiza Alves; Barbalho, Ingridy Marina Pierre; Fernandes, Felipe Ricardo dos Santos; Arrais Júnior, Ernano; Nagem, Danilo Alves Pinto; Cardoso, Pablo Holanda; Veras, Nícolas Vinícius Rodrigues; Farias, Fernando Lucas de Oliveira; Lindquist, Ana Raquel; Santos, João Paulo Queiroz dos; Morais, Antonio Higor Freire de; Henriques, Jorge; Lucena, Marcia Jacyntha Nunes Rodrigues; Valentim, Ricardo Alexsandro de MedeirosAbstract: (1) Background: With the increasing digitalization of healthcare systems, data security and privacy have become crucial issues. In parallel, blockchain technology has gradually proven to be an innovative solution to address this challenge, as its ability to provide an immutable and secure record of transactions offers significant promise for healthcare information management. This systematic review aims to explore the applications of blockchain in health information systems, highlighting its advantages and challenges. (2) Methods: The publications chosen to compose this review were collected from six databases, resulting in the initial identification of 4864 studies. Of these, 73 were selected for in-depth analysis. (3) Results: The main results show that blockchain has been used mainly in electronic health records (63%). Furthermore, it was used in the Internet of Medical Things (8.2%) and for data sharing during the COVID-19 pandemic (6.8%). As advantages, greater security, privacy, and data integrity were identified, while the challenges point to the need for standardization and regulatory issues. (4) Conclusions: Despite the difficulties encountered, blockchain has significant potential to improve healthcare data management. However, more research and continued collaboration between those involved are needed to maximize its benefitsArtigo Distributed-Memory load balancing with cyclic token-based work-stealing applied to reverse time migration(Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, 2019) Martins, Idalmis Milian Sardina; Assis, Ítalo Augusto Souza; Oliveira, Antônio D. S.; Barros, Tiago; Bianchini, Calebe P.; Souza, Samuel Xavier deReverse time migration (RTM) is a prominent technique in seismic imaging. Its resulting subsurface images are used in the industry to investigate with higher confidence the existence and the conditions of oil and gas reservoirs. Because of its high computational cost, RTM must make use of parallel computers. Balancing the workload distribution of an RTM is a growing challenge in distributed computing systems. The competition for shared resources and the differently-sized tasks of the RTM are some of the possible sources of load imbalance. Although many load balancing techniques exist, scaling up for large problems and large systems remains a challenge because synchronization overhead also scales. This paper proposes a cyclic token-based work-stealing (CTWS) algorithm for distributed memory systems applied to RTM. The novel cyclic token approach reduces the number of failed steals, avoids communication overhead, and simplifies the victim selection and the termination strategy. The proposed method is implemented as a C library using the one-sided communication feature of the message passing interface (MPI) standard. Results obtained by applying the proposed technique to balance the workload of a 3D RTM system present a factor of 14.1 % speedup and reductions of the load imbalance of 78.4 % when compared to the conventional static distributionArtigo A PSO-inspired architecture to hybridise multi-objective metaheuristics(Springer, 2020-06-22) Fernandes, Islame Felipe da Costa; Silva, Igor Rosberg de Medeiros; Goldbarg, Elizabeth Ferreira Gouvea; Maia, Silvia Maria Diniz Monteiro; Goldbarg, Marco CésarHybridisation is a technique that exploits and unites the best features of individual algorithms. The literature includes several hybridisation methodologies, among which there are general procedures, termed architectures, that provide generic functionalities and features for solving optimisation problems. Successful hybridisation methodologies have applied concepts of the multi-agent paradigm, such as cooperation and agent intelligence. However, there is still a lack concerning architectures for the hybridisation of multi-objective metaheuristics that fully explore these concepts. This study proposes a new architecture, named MO-MAHM, based on concepts from Particle Swarm Optimisation, to hybridise multi-objective metaheuristics. We apply the MO-MAHM to the Bi-objective Spanning Tree Problem. Four algorithms were hybridised within the MO-MAHM: three evolutionary algorithms and a local search method. We report the results of experiments with 180 instances, analyse the behaviour of the MO-MAHM, and compare to the results produced by algorithms proposed for the Bi-objective Spanning Tree ProblemArtigo A wearable mobile sensor platform to assist fruit grading(MDPI, 2013-05-10) Aroca, Rafael Vidal; Gomes, Rafael Beserra; Dantas, Rummenigge Rudson; Calbo, Adonai G.; Gonçalves, Luiz Marcos GarciaWearable computing is a form of ubiquitous computing that offers flexible and useful tools for users. Specifically, glove-based systems have been used in the last 30 years in a variety of applications, but mostly focusing on sensing people’s attributes, such as finger bending and heart rate. In contrast, we propose in this work a novel flexible and reconfigurable instrumentation platform in the form of a glove, which can be used to analyze and measure attributes of fruits by just pointing or touching them with the proposed glove. A partir de um sistema f que opere sobre sinais cujos valores sejam números complexos, usando a função CIR, encontra-se um sistema intervalar F o qual preserva, no ambiente intervalar, as propriedades de f, tais como estabilidade, invariância no tempo, aditividadade, homogeneidade e linearidadeArtigo Wavelet-fuzzy power quality diagnosis system with inference method based on overlap functions: case study in an AC microgrid(Elsevier, 2019-05-30) Nolasco, Diego H. S.; Costa, Flávio Bezerra; Palmeira, Eduardo Silva; Alves, Denis Keuton; Bedregal, Benjamín Rene Callejas; Rocha, Thiago de Oliveira Alves; Ribeiro, Ricardo Lúcio de Araújo; Silva, Juliano Costa Leal daThis work proposes a wavelet-fuzzy power quality (PQ) diagnosis method able to evaluate the PQ impact of steady-state (stationary) PQ events in alternating current (AC) microgrids considering the influence of the power level penetration. The proposed method is composed by a wavelet packet-based signal processing to compute the root mean square (RMS) and steady-state PQ indices of measured voltages and currents, providing accurate results even if transient disturbances take place. Thereafter, a cascade-type hierarchical fuzzy system receives the PQ indices and performs the power quality diagnosis to evaluate the impacts of disturbances on electrical system power quality. The proposed method considers subjectivities of several PQ standards simultaneously and applies an adaptive algorithm that allows the evaluation of the PQ diagnosis from the total harmonic distortion of currents considering different levels of power penetration of microgrids. Experimental results obtained from an ac microgrid laboratory setup evaluates the proposed PQ diagnosis method. In addition, the fuzzy system uses a new inference concept based on an extended n-dimensional overlap functionArtigo Sistema de apoio à gestão de cursos de graduação à distância: relato de uma experiência na SEDIS/UFRN(Sistemas & Gestão, 2014-02-06) Oliveira, Idelmárcia Dantas de; Hékis, Hélio Roberto; Valentim, Ricardo Alexsandro de Medeiros; Ramos, Anatália Saraiva Martins; Araújo, Guilherme Fernandes de; Silva, Janaína Luana Rodrigues daO artigo apresenta um sistema de informação implementado na Secretaria de Ensino à Distância da Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte - SEDIS/UFRN, para gerenciar as informações que compõem o planejamento do semestre letivo.
