Modelo multicritério para classificação e priorização na internação de pacientes com transtornos mentais: estudo de caso na Central de Regulação do Estado do Rio Grande do Norte

Given the increasing demand for specialized mental health services and the global trend of reducing psychiatric beds, effective regulation of beds for patients with mental disorders has become essential. This study developed a multicriteria decision-making model to classify and prioritize patients at the Central Regulation Office of Rio Grande do Norte, providing support to the regulating physician for more objective and cognitively efficient decisions. The research was conducted in three stages: planning, problem structuring, and modeling and analyses. The Value Focused Thinking (VFT) method was used to structure the objectives and core values of the problem, identifying five main criteria: hetero-aggressiveness, suicidal ideation or attempts, special population, assistance level, and clinical risk grade. For the modeling stage, the FITradeoff method was adopted, noted for reducing cognitive effort and accommodating partial information. The results classified ten patients into three priority categories, with robustness validated through sensitivity analysis. The model contributed to more equitable and transparent decisions, promoting fairness in bed allocation and providing greater scientific support for the regulation process. This approach innovatively integrates MCDA and FITradeoff into the mental health context, demonstrating significant potential for broader application.
